Residents in Syria's capital, Damascus, took to the street on Thursday, protesting against the hike of basic commodities' prices and the incompetent management of the Syrian government. People rallied in front of the country's Ministry of Economy and Trade, holding a banner saying "Some people are greedy, and you are incompetent". "Maybe for the goods imported from outside, there's a reason (for the price hike) because of the increasing of the dollar. But for the local merchandises, there's no reason at all. That's about the chicken, about the meat, about the vegetables. Poor people became more poor, and there are a lot of families that became hungry," said one of the citizen in Damascus. The Syrian economy has experienced severe setbacks since the 13-month turmoil broke out in the country. And the economic sanctions imposed on Syria by Western and Arab countries are making the condition even worse. The exchange rate of the Syrian pound depreciated 62 percent against the US dollar during the last 12 months. In addition, cotton prices have increased 37 percent, sugar prices up 50 percent and vegetable oil prices 20 percent higher. Fuel prices also climbed 20 percent from last April. The constant price hike is making life unbearable for consumers. To curb rising inflation, the Syrian government issued two price lists of major commodities on March 26 and April 2, which set maximum prices for some staple food such as chicken (at 175 Syrian pound per kilo), pancake (at 45 ...

China hits back at US currency bill! Warns Of Trade War (Currency Wars, Trade Wars Into WW3)May 08, 2012
Uploaded by cctvnewschannel on Oct 4, 2011 China "firmly opposes" US Senate's yuan bill, FM spokesman BEIJING, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- China here Tuesday expressed firm opposition on the US Senate's bill on Chinese yuan after it voted to allow a debate on the bill on so-called "currency manipulation" by China. Such a move "seriously violates rules of the World Trade Organization and obstructs China-US trade ties," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a statement. China urges certain US Senators to "rationally understand the Sino-US trade cooperation, which is mutually beneficial in nature, and stops to pressure China by using domestic law-making means of the United States," he said. The bill "will further escalate the exchange rate issue by adopting protectionist measures with an excuse of 'currency imbalance'," he said. "China-US economic and trade cooperation, which have brought concrete interests of Chinese and American peoples, has a protruding feature of mutual benefits and win-win results and thus become an important foundation and driving force of Sino-US ties," Ma said. Statistics indicate that China and US are each's second largest trading partner and China is the fastest-growing export market. "It is widely understood that the exchange rate of Renminbi, the Chinese currency, is not the cause of Sino-US trade imbalance," Ma pointed out. China calls on the United States to abandon protectionism or politicize economic issue so as to create favorable environment ...

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ me.lt The Chinese regime has openly opposed new sanctions on Iran. This comes after several Western countries announced tougher sanctions to isolate Iran's economy and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons. Experts believe the Chinese regime is against sanctions because of its interest in Iranian oil and trade deals. The Chinese regime announced on Wednesday it is against imposing new sanctions to resolve Iran's nuclear plans. The statement was made after Britain, Canada and the United States announced on Monday tougher sanctions aimed at isolating Iran's economy. The new proposals include freezing Iran's central bank and suspending purchases of Iranian oil. Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said improved negotiations and cooperation should be the approach. [Liu Weimin, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman]: "We believe pressure and sanctions will not fundamentally solve the Iranian issue, but will complicate the issue." The tougher sanctions came about following a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealing Iran's nuclear aspirations to develop nuclear weapons. But experts on the Middle East believe the Chinese regime has its eyes on Iran's oil—that the regime is opposing the sanctions to avoid jeopardizing its trade relations with Iran. Iran is China's third major supplier of oil. China imported ...

End of the World May 21,2011Apr 06, 2012
If you thought you had less than three perfectly healthy months to live, what would you do? Would you travel? Spend time with loved ones? Appreciate the joy life has given you? Or would you ditch your kids and grandkids, join strangers in a caravan of RVs and travel the country warning people about the end of the world? If you're Sheila Jonas, that's exactly what you'd do. "This is so serious, I can't believe I'm here," says Jonas, who's been on the road since fall. Like her cohorts, she's "in it 'til the end," which she believes is coming in May. She won't talk about her past because, "There is no other story. ... We are to warn the people. Nothing else matters." Such faith and concern drove her and nine others, all loyal listeners of the Christian broadcasting ministry Family Radio, to join the radio station's first "Project Caravan" team. Learn about other doomsdays that have come and gone They walked away from work, families and communities in places as far-flung as California, Kansas, Utah and New Jersey. "China will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third World War" Major General Zhang ZhaozhongMay 18, 2012
On November 21st, America, UK and Canada announced more sanctions against Iran. France also proposed to adopt new sanctions to force Tehran to stop it's nuclear project. On Nov 23rd, the spokesman of Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s Foreign Ministry said in a regular press conference held in Beijing that China is opposed to unilateral sanctions against Iran. Scholars believe that, being isolated, China and Iran need mutual support. Meanwhile, the CCP government, with internal and external difficulties, may express an even tougher diplomatic "voice". "Reuters" reported on Nov 23rd: "The United States, UK and Canada have announced new sanctions against Iran in the areas of energy and finance. France proposed 'unprecedented' new sanctions, including freezing the assets of the Central Bank of Iran and suspending the purchase of Iran's oil. Earlier, the "International Atomic Energy Agency" (IAEA) had issued a report that Iran may be secretly developing nuclear weapons. On Nov 23rd, the CCP's Foreign Ministry expressed opposition to the imposition of unilateral sanctions against Iran. In this regard, Xia Ming, a political professor from "City University of New York" in America, believes that since the Cold War, the United States and Western society's biggest challenges have been seen as being from China and Iran. They are both isolated by the United States and the West. Therefore, China's policy is foreseeable. Xia Ming says: "China and Iran are facing strong Western challenges ...
